Narrative Assessment - Literacy

Learner: Jeffa                  Learning Coach: Abby Morgan              Date: 6 May 2015
Learning Area: Literacy
Learning Observed
I completed the JOST Assessment (Junior Oral Language Screening Tool) with Jeffa. It was great that he was able to correctly identify 10 of the 12 body parts that were shown to him on the picture. He also knew the names of more than 7 animals - all from z the zoo. Jeffa was also able to tell me the functions of all the body parts asked for; ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. He also has sound knowledge of verbs and prepositions (in, on, beside, behind etc). Jeffa enjoyed telling me what about what was happening in the picture.
Evidence of learning
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Jeffa is developing his capabilities in using Language, Symbols, and Texts and Thinking. He was able to recall and interpret the questions asked and respond to them. Jeffa is able to verbalise his thoughts and initiates conversations with both adults and children.
Next Learning Steps
